1968 LOOK Magazine

This January 9, 1968 issue of LOOK Magazine has two sets of photographs of The Beatles by Richard Avedon. Plus other photos of Janis Joplin’s band, Big Brother and the Holding Company, as well as The Greatful Dead, and others, by Irvine Penn. All are in great condition, the photos are in much better condition than these photos make them look because of the overhead lighting. The front cover is loose and shows some wear, the back cover is missing, but the pages and photos inside are in great condition. This was a special edition that covered Arts and Entertainment. Also included are short pieces on several visual artists, like Frank Stella and Claus Oldenburg, with great photos included. Several full pages of Saul Steinberg’s drawings and words. It’s a pretty amazing issue and a great look at 1968.
