When selecting a suitable cuvette, consider its material and sample volume. Plastic disposable cuvettes absorb, so for strongly absorbing samples needing a higher photometric range, quartz cuvettes are preferable. Cuvettes come in macro (2.5-4 mL), micro (250-1000 mL), and sub-micro volumes. Longer pathlengths require more volume.
